Welcome to the 2015-2016 school year at Lakeshore!
We are looking forward to a great year!
It was nice to see everyone again and meet so many new people at the Back to School Open House.
Thank you to all who participated in Drive for the Kids, we had 208 drivers!

We invite you to take a look around this website.  You'll find a lot of information about our school and what the PTO does throughout the year.  Click on the calendar link above to stay up to date on what's going on.  The top calendar is our PTO calendar and the bottom calendar is the FDL School District calendar.  There is 2015-2016 PTO calendar attachment at the bottom of the calendar page (a copy was also included in your Blue Welcome Folder). Lakeshore Handbooks will be online this year and Mr. Steinbarth will let you know when that's complete.

Drop Off & Pick Up Procedures
Our school day runs from 8:40am-3:40pm.  Playground supervision begins at 8:25am.  The first bell rings at 8:35am and students are expected to be in their classrooms and ready to start their day at 8:40am.

Teachers and staff will be outside on the first day of school to welcome your child(ren) and show them where to line up.
Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd graders will line up on the playground on the South side of the school.
3rd, 4th and 5th graders will line up on the playground behind the school.

*Map attachment at the bottom of the post*- just a reminder, to open an attachment, you must first click on the title of the post, then scroll down to the attachment and click on it.

Overall:
  • No vehicle may stop in the driveway in front of the building during the following times: 8:15-8:50am and 3:25-4:00pm or when buses are present.
  • The speed limit before and after school is 15 mph.
  • Mid-block crossing has been identified as a problem at our school. Please model and speak with your child about the importance of using the crosswalk to safely cross Prairie Road
  • Please follow the arrows in the North parking lot, make a counterclockwise loop.  There is NO two way traffic in the parking lot (minus the entrance/exit).

Student Drop Off:.
  • Vehicles should enter the North parking lot via the North driveway, avoiding the driveway where the buses are entering.
  • Drop children at the "student drop off" area located in the Southwest corner of the North parking lot which is near the handicap spaces and designated with "student drop off" sign.
  • The student should then proceed to his/her playground via the back of the school.
  • Vehicles may also enter the South driveway by the Annex and students may be dropped off on the left side of the loop.
  • The student should then proceed to his/her playground via the back of the school.
  • There is no parking in front of the Annex on the left side of the loop.
  • NO student is to be dropped off in the South teacher's parking lot or on the road to Fond du Lac High School. Fond du Lac High School has notified us of their concern for the safety of the students being dropped off there.

Student Pick Up:
  • Vehicles should enter the North parking lot via the North driveway, avoiding the driveway where the buses are entering.
  • When picking up a student, parents are to park their vehicle in the North parking lot or in appropriate spaces along Prairie Road and come into the school cafeteria.
  • Please follow the arrows in the North parking lot, make a counterclockwise loop.  There is NO two way traffic in the parking lot (minus the entrance/exit).
  • Please refrain from waiting in the lobby, this causes congestion and confusion for our younger students as they get on the bus.
  • Children who are being picked up after school will proceed to the cafeteria to meet their rides.  This is the best assurance that a child will be escorted to the waiting vehicle safely.

These precautions are not intended to be an inconvenience for families, instead it's to ensure that ALL of our students get home safely!  Thank you for your efforts in providing a safe environment for our students.

T-Shirts (Kindergarteners & New Students)

Kindergarten students and students new to Lakeshore receive a free Lakeshore t-shirt welcoming you to our school.  Many of you received your t-shirts at the Open House.  If you didn't receive your t-shirt, please watch for a form to come home with your child.  If you have questions, please contact Liz at masonpt@aol.com.

Communication & Messengers

Thursday is typically the day during the week that most 'communication papers' will come home with 'messengers'. If you have more than one student at Lakeshore, the 'messenger' is the youngest student in your family.

Generally we post a weekly summary on this website and more frequent (shorter) posts & reminders on Facebook.  We also share Tweets on our Facebook page that our Lakeshore teachers and the FDL School District share on Twitter. At this time, the Lakeshore PTO doesn't have a twitter account.

**Lakeshore Lion's twitter is @fdsdlakeshore and FDL School District's twitter is @fdlschools if you'd like to follow them.

Be sure to sign up for email notifications of announcements on this website.  Just click the link on the right sidebar, put in your email address, you will receive an email from Google Feedburner asking you to verify that address. Once you verify, you're all set.  You'll only receive an email if we create a post.  Posts will come to your email between 7-7:30am and they are usually NOT this long. :)

If you are on Facebook, make sure to 'like' our PTO Facebook page.  The link is at the top of this website or just click here.

If you would like to share pictures from the first day of school to be posted on our Facebook page, please email or text them.  Include your child's first name and grade. fdllakeshorepto@gmail.com or 920-960-3845
