Spring Program
The Spring Program is coming up on Tuesday at 6:30pm for all 3rd, 4th and 5th grade students.  The program will be at the Fond du Lac High School Performing Arts Center.  Doors will open at 6:00pm.  In order to ensure the safety of all students, please have your child stay with you until 6:15pm.  At that time, an announcement will be made for 4th and 5th graders to meet their teachers in the balcony or for 3rd graders and Kids from Lakeshore kids to line up in the back hallway.  If you are able, please have your child dress in their 60's, 70's or 80's Rock 'n Roll attire for the program.  There will be a free will offering which will go to #TeamGavin (Gavin Bartels), a Fond du Lac High School student who has been diagnosed with terminal brain cancer.

Classroom and Activity Pictures
Quick & Smart will be taking activity pictures right away in the morning on Thursday.  Students should wear their uniform, bring their instruments, etc.  Each classroom will also have their group picture taken that day.  If students who are in activities want to change into something else afterwards for their classroom picture, they are welcome to do so.  You will be able to purchase classroom pictures at a later date.  Envelopes will be sent home when they are available.

Art to Remember
Our school is participating in a unique fundraising program with Art to Remember that gives you the opportunity to purchase keepsake items with your child's artwork on them.  The best part is that every keepsake order supports our school.

Order forms for Art to Remember will be sent home with students on Wednesday and are due back by March 21st.  To see available items like coffee mugs, key chains and necklaces visit the Art to Remember website at the link below.

Scrip News
The last scrip order of March will be this Thursday due to Spring Break.  The next order will be due on April 5th.

Save the Date

5th Grade Recognition Chair
We are looking for a chairperson(s) for the 5th grade recognition this year on June 4th. These are usually the parents of 4th graders and will serve refreshments to 5th graders and celebrate their graduation to middle school. If you are interested, please contact Michelle Nelson at mlmielk@yahoo.com.

Scholarship
Lakeshore Elementary School's PTO is once again accepting applications for its scholarships.  The Lakeshore PTO offers up to three $500 scholarships a year to graduating seniors who plan on pursuing further education by attending college, university or technical college in the fall of 2018. The applicants must have attended Lakeshore Elementary School for at least one full year and must be a graduating high school senior during the 2017-2018 school year.  Applications are available at the guidance offices at Fond du Lac High School, Horace Mann High School, St. Mary's Springs High School or at the main office of Lakeshore Elementary School .

Applications and supporting documentation for consideration of this years scholarship awards must be returned to Lakeshore Elementary School by May 25, 2018.  The application is attached at the link below.  If there are any questions, please contact Zenia Tatarsky at zenia.tatarsky@gmail.com or call Lakeshore Elementary at 920-929-2901.

Miscellaneous
~ For students participating in morning clubs, we are asking that you use the regular drop-off/pick-up site – the north end “Kiss & Drop” for safety due to the high volume of traffic.

~If you would like to make a teacher request or a student separation request for the 2018-2019 school year, please email that request to Ms. Barkovich by Friday, May 4.  She will try to honor your request, but cannot guarantee.  She also cannot grant multiple requests for the same student (Example: Request of a teacher and separation from another student).

Please note that this is a strict deadline. Requests made after the date of Friday, May 4, will not be accepted. A significant amount of work goes into setting up class lists and preparing supplies and materials for individual students before the start of the school year, so there will be no switches to your child’s classroom teacher once class lists have been posted.

~ Lakeshore is having a friendly Art Supply Drive/Competition between classes until Spring Break.  Items collected can be used/recycled or new if you choose to purchase an item.  Classes will earn points for items they contribute.  Mrs. Perry will assign points and the winning class will receive extra recess/gym time!
