NO SCHOOL-Friday, January 23

The read-a-thon is going great! We are in the middle of reading week.  Record your minutes through Saturday, January 24th.  We've had quite a few students turning in their reading logs daily and our totals have been great! Day 1-2642 minutes, Day 2-3479 minutes & Day 3-4575 minutes.  Our goal is to beat last year's total minutes-26,000! We'll update on Facebook after Thursday's total and then we'll have to wait until Monday to see if we've reached our goal.
Remember-students receive 2 tickets just for turning in their reading log-even without any pledges. Last year only 1/3 of the students participated, let's shatter that this year!
January 25-30: Collect Money
*Money and reading logs can be turned in any time this week.
All envelopes are due Friday, January 30th.
February 2-6: Tickets will be awarded and the students will enter their tickets into the prize boxes for awesome prizes! Stop in to the media center and take a look at the prizes being offered.  Our chairperson (Amy) and decorating committee (Katie, Stacey & Beata) have the media center looking amazing!
February 6: Winners Announced in the morning (half day).

Roller Skating Unit-Physical Education
*A letter is attached and will also come home with messengers. Here is a summary.

Roller skating begins on February 2nd.  Please send your child's helmet to school no later than February 2nd.  Their helmets will stay at school for the month of February.  Remember to put your child's name in their helmet.  Students will receive a ticket and be entered into a drawing for prizes for wearing their own helmets. If they have their helmet on the first day of skating, they'll receive 2 tickets.

Volunteers are needed to help during the kindergarten and 1st grade classes. You'll be amazed at their improvement from the beginning of skating until the end!
Kindergarten has physical education from 1:20-2:05 & 1st grade from 2:05-2:50.
