Communication
The PTO has been working hard to keep you informed of the activities and events happening at Lakeshore.  Typically Thursday is the day that most communication will come home with messengers (your youngest child at school).   Please remember to ask your child to check their mailbox and their backpack for flyers.  Occasionally the 'half sheet fairy' visits our school and some families do not receive the flyer home.  Information is posted on Facebook and on this website. There is also a PTO calendar link at the top of this page that has all of the events for the entire 2014-2015 school year.  We will do everything possible to notify you of any changes in the schedule, should that occur.

Book Fair-Thanks to all who attended our book fair.  You may still shop online at www.scholastic.com/fair until 10/22.  By you 'rounding up' your total purchases, we were able to purchase $184 in books that will go directly into Lakeshore classrooms.  Thank you! Scholastic also matches that amount and donates books to children in need. Katie and her crew of volunteers did an amazing job! Thank you to all that attended and volunteered!

Donuts with Dad-Almost 500 donuts were enjoyed at Donuts with Dad! It was so wonderful to see the children with the important men in their lives.  Thank you to Karin for organizing this event and all of her volunteers who did a great job serving all of those 'dads' and kids.  Pictures that were taken at the event are available for pick up at school or we'll send them home with your child.  **While we always order extra, we have run out in the past and families that have pre-registered didn't get their donuts/muffins. We never want to turn anyone away, so please try to RSVP by the due date to help the volunteers make this a great event for everyone.
Just an FYI, Muffins with Mom is held in May.

Fundraiser-The students racked up 2005 items!  Thank you to all who participated in our major fundraiser! All Lakeshore students earned the following even if they did not participate in this fundraiser. PJ Day, Crazy Hat Day and A Treat and A Movie at Lunch! We'll let you know which days these events will occur. Thursday (10/16), Mr. Steinbarth will be showing his Lakeshore Pride with blue and white hair!  We will be sure to post pictures! Mr. Hoffer will be getting duct taped to the wall (a date and time is to be determined). The students are very excited about this and so are Mr. Hoffer's co-workers!  A big thank you to YOU!  The funds raised are used to fund several educational and fun opportunities for your child, technology and field trips.  Specifically this year, the funds will be used for Artist In Residence, more technology and helping to fund the All School Field Trip to the Schauer Center.  Fundraiser items may be picked up on November 6th.  A reminder will be posted and sent home.  If your child earned the Limo Lunch, we will be contacting you and sending you a permission slip. The Limo Lunch is scheduled for November 6th.  If you have any questions, please contact Christine christinemartin06@yahoo.com or TJ tjtwohig8@yahoo.com

PTO Meeting-What is PBIS and how is Lakeshore implementing PBIS?  If you have ever wondered about these questions, or similar “mysteries” of elementary school life, please come to our next PTO meeting on Tuesday,October 21st at 4pm.

Principal Matt Steinbarth will be discussing and answering questions parents have about PBIS.  He will also be informing us of all the exciting happenings with PBIS at Lakeshore.  It is a great opportunity to meet our new principal, connect with other parents in the Lakeshore community and have your questions answered. There will always be free babysitting during the PTO meetings.  Please join us!

Thank you!
